Joseph Henry
Caruth, Jr. graduated from Troy State University with a Master's degree in Business Management in 1992, Is an Adjunct
Assistant Professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and Adjunct Professor Pensacola State College.
He has served on the President's Advisory Council at The University of West Florida, and is a past member of the
University of West Florida Recruitment and Retention Task Force.
In 1992 he was selected to attend the First Annual Scientists Helping America Conference.
The conference invited top scientists, educators, and businessmen to Washington DC, where their ideas on how to combat terrorism
were solicited. He has also been recognized by the Florida/Korea Economic Cooperation Committee for efforts to
promote a greater awareness and understanding between Korea and the Southeastern United States in the areas of international
trade, culture, industry, technology, and commerce. He is a contributor to the State of Florida's project to strengthen
economic, cultural, and friendship ties with Asia. Mr. Caruth was a Florida delegate to the SEUS/KOREA Association's XV
Joint Meeting in Orlando Florida 2000, and delegate to the SEUS/JAPAN Association's XXIV Joint Meeting in Tokyo Japan
1999. Meetings included the top business executives from 7 Southeastern United States, Japan and Korea. He is
also a member of the 1993-94 Who's Who Registry of Global Business Leaders.
Mr. Caruth has several years experience
at all levels of business. He has been a CEO, President, Vice president for International Marketing, Chairman of the Board,
Treasurer, Secretary and Member, in profit and nonprofit corporations. His career includes extensive travel in Europe and
the Middle East, while on Active duty with the U. S. Air Force as well as civilian travel throughout Asia, including Taiwan.
His military experience includes Training Management in a Special Operations Environment. He is also experienced with most
aspects of the Small Business Administration both at the Washington level and the Regional level.
While working with The University
of West Florida, he obtained extensive experience in creating and producing special projects for The University, where he
created and produced the" America's Secret Wars" lecture series. His UWF experience also includes military liaison
and academic advising experience. He has been a member of the Florida Advisory Council on Military Education, the National
Association of Academic Advisors, and the National contract Management Association, and he has met with the top policy officials
from all branches of the military and the Department of Defense concerning military education programs, including distance
education. He has experience with policies, procedures, and regulations relating to Military Education Programs.
During his career he has been exposed to many different businesses, ranging from small sole proprietorships to some of the
largest multinational corporations. He is a lifetime member of the Air Force Association and the Air Commando Association
as well as a member of both Kiwanis and Optimist International. He is a certified Emergency Medical Technician, Crisis Intervention
Counselor, and Tennis Coach. Mr. Caruth has taught Managerial Leadership, Organizational Theory, and Introduction to
Business and Management for The University of Maryland Asian Division Distance Education Program, and presently teaches Marketing,
Organizational Behavior, Strategic Management, and International Business for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, as
well as Introduction to Business, Introduction to Management, Supervision, Advertising, and Introduction to Marketing at Pensacola State
College.
